You are in the right place if your group has finished something in Big Walk but is unsure which useful unlock to pursue next. This is the one broad, low-spoiler route page: identify the stage you are at, pick a next task, then leave for its specific guide. It intentionally does not list puzzle solutions, late-game reveals, or a mandatory tower order.

Short answer: finish the starting area and cross the Drawbridge. After that, choose one of the regional unlocks that helps your group now. The Map Room helps navigation, the Chairlift shortens climbs, the Train moves the group around the island, and the Tunnels add another travel option. Community routes place the later main-story milestones after those regional systems, but their exact requirements are still under review.

Find your stage

If this sounds like your group Do this next Why it helps
You are still on the opening beach and cannot reach the island. Finish the starting-area objective and cross the Drawbridge. Crossing it is the platform-confirmed Big Walk progression milestone. Detailed steps remain under review.
You have crossed the Drawbridge but keep losing your bearings. Prioritize the Red Tower / Map Room route, then open the map. The Steam milestone list confirms visiting the map as Big View; a map is usually the best next tool for a group that is lost.
Your group is spending too long climbing between destinations. Consider the Green Tower / Chairlift route. Community material associates it with the Chairlift; exact activation and recovery behavior still need an in-game pass.
Your group wants a transport loop across the island. Open the Train guide. It explains the available community-backed activation route, the confirmed Big Ride milestone, and what remains unverified.
You want another way to move through the island. Consider the Yellow Tower / Tunnels route. Community material associates it with the tunnel network; its interior map and recovery paths are still being verified.

There is no verified mandatory order for the four regional unlocks. Treat the suggestions above as task-based choices, not a sequence you can permanently break by doing the “wrong” one first.

The progression shape, without late-story spoilers

Steam’s achievement list confirms a set of major milestones: the Drawbridge, map, Chairlift, Train, Tunnels, a later Wall milestone, and an ending milestone. The official FAQ confirms the game has a beginning, middle, and end. Together, those sources support this useful orientation:

  1. Opening area: learn the co-op interaction patterns and open the route off the beach.
  2. Main island: choose regional unlocks according to what your group needs most: orientation, climbing, transport, or underground travel.
  3. Later progression: once the regional systems are open, follow the game-world prompts and your group’s current objective. This page deliberately does not reveal their final sequence or result.

The four-region structure is corroborated by community full-run records, but counts, exact prerequisite puzzles, player-count scaling, and a fixed order are not yet verified in our own sessions. Do not use them as a checklist for a no-mistakes run.

Choose the next task for your group

Need to get somewhere, not solve a story step?

Open the map to choose a destination or route. If the immediate problem is activating island transport, use the Train guide first. These are separate jobs: the map helps you decide where to go; the Train guide helps only when you are working on the Blue Tower transport unlock.

Stuck on a visible puzzle?

Go to Puzzles when you can describe what you see, a number, a color, or a room. Puzzle pages should let you take a hint first and choose whether to reveal a full answer, rather than making the broad walkthrough spoil a different group’s discovery.

The group cannot continue because someone cannot join or communicate?

That is not a progression problem. Start at Multiplayer for setup and save ownership, then use its connection or voice paths for the symptom you actually have.

What we can and cannot confirm today

  • Confirmed by Steam milestones: crossing the Drawbridge, visiting the map, riding the Chairlift, riding the Train, entering the big tunnel, and later Wall and ending milestones all exist.
  • Useful but still under review: exact regional unlock steps, which puzzles may be substituted, whether every player receives the same milestone, and what happens after a missed transport departure or reconnect.
  • Not publishing as a fact: a fixed completion time, a mandatory four-tower order, exact puzzle counts, or late-story instructions.

This page is publicly visible for Preview but remains noindex while the route details are reviewed against an in-game run. Tell us what stage or failure state you reached via our editorial policy; that report is more useful than a guessed solution.
