On this page
Big Walk launched on August 4, 2026 for Windows and Mac (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, and every version can play together through crossplay. In the US, checked on August 7, 2026, the standard price is $19.99 on Steam and $19.99 on the PlayStation Store, while the Mac App Store charges $14.99. Steam also ran a 25% launch discount that brought it to $14.99 at snapshot time — treat any sale price as dated, never permanent.
If you want the shortest path: buy on the store that matches your device, budget for an online subscription on consoles (PS Plus on PS5, Nintendo Switch Online on Switch 2), and expect a download of roughly 3.9 GB on Switch 2 or 3.44 GB from the Mac App Store. This is a fan-made guide; the linked official store pages and the Big Walk FAQ are the final word.
Price and platform overview
All prices below are US-region snapshots checked on August 7, 2026. Prices, discounts, and store availability change, so confirm on the live store page before you buy.

| Windows (Steam) | Available | $19.99 ($14.99 on launch sale at snapshot) | None | 2-12 | See Steam system requirements |
| Mac (Steam) | Available | $19.99 ($14.99 on launch sale at snapshot) | None | 2-12 | Steam lists macOS 15, Apple Silicon M1, 16 GB RAM |
| Mac (App Store) | Available | $14.99 | None listed | 2-12 | Apple lists macOS 12.0 or later, 3.44 GB |

| Nintendo Switch 2 | Available | Check Nintendo page | Nintendo Switch Online required | 2-12 | 3.9 GB download |
The PlayStation Store page also displayed a PlayStation Plus offer alongside the $19.99 listing when we checked. The membership tier involved, the promotion end date, and the final checkout price all need confirming on the live store page.
Which version should you buy?
Every version plays with every other version, so the “best” version is simply the one matching the hardware your group already owns. A few practical notes:
- Steam (Windows or Mac) suits most PC players and had the launch discount at snapshot time. Steam’s own system requirements are the ones to check for Windows.
- Mac App Store is a separate release channel with a lower sticker price ($14.99) and different stated minimums — see the conflict section below before choosing.
- PS5 is the living-room option, but online play needs an active PS Plus membership on top of the game price.
- Switch 2 is the portable option at 3.9 GB, and online play needs Nintendo Switch Online. Do not confuse this with the original Switch — there is no Switch 1 version.
Platforms with no official version
There is currently no Xbox, Linux, PlayStation 4, or original Switch version. When we checked on August 7, 2026, the official FAQ stated there were no plans for other platforms. That is a dated snapshot, not a promise of “never” — if you are reading this months later, re-check the FAQ before giving up on your platform.
Also worth correcting: the Nintendo store listing shows a “Single system (1)” capability field. That is a store metadata field, not a single-player mode. The official FAQ is explicit that Big Walk cannot be meaningfully played alone — it is built around 2-12 players talking to each other.
The Mac requirements conflict
Mac has two distribution channels, and they currently disagree on minimum system requirements:
- Steam snapshot (August 7, 2026): macOS 15, Apple Silicon M1, 16 GB RAM.
- Mac App Store metadata (August 7, 2026): macOS 12.0 minimum, 3.44 GB download, version 1.4.7.
We deliberately present both instead of merging them into one “minimum spec.” If your Mac sits between those two listings, this conflict is unresolved — check both live store pages on the day you buy and pick the channel your hardware clearly satisfies. The discrepancy needs verification against the live store listings.
Online subscriptions and player counts
- PS5: online play requires an active PS Plus membership; the store listing caps online sessions at 12 players.
- Switch 2: online play requires Nintendo Switch Online; the listing states 2-12 online players.
- Steam (Windows/Mac) and Mac App Store: no platform subscription is listed — you just need internet access and friends.
All four platforms support crossplay with each other, so a mixed group of PC, Mac, PS5, and Switch 2 players can share one session. Group setup, join codes, and save rules are covered in our multiplayer guide.
How we keep this page accurate
Prices, promotions, version numbers, and “no plans for other platforms” statements are dynamic facts. We stamp each one with a region and a check date, and we re-check the official store pages and FAQ before updating. The current build baseline is Big Walk 1.4.7 (launch version). If a live store page disagrees with this page, trust the store page and treat our snapshot as stale — and expect this page to be refreshed rather than left to rot.
